History
The Bull Terrier is a breed of dog in the terrier family. In their origin, they were used for dog and bull fighting. Because of that, the people scared about them and were classified as a dangerous breed. They came from England.
Appearance
The Bull Terries's most recognizable feature is its head, describes as "egg-shaped"; the top of the skull is almost flat. The profile curves gently downwards from the top of the skull to the tip of the nose black with well developed nostrils. The unique triangular eyes are small, dark and deep-set. The body is full and round with strong, muscular shoulders. The tail is carried horisontally. They are usually white.
Temperament
Bull Terriers can be both independent and stubborn. For this reasons aren´t considered good for an inexperienced dog owner. They are protective of their family. They have a stong prey instinct so they can injure or kill other animals, specially cats.
Common diseases
- Deafness: they usually born with it, specially white ones. Unilateral deafness is less severe.
- Patella dislocation: cause much pain, they can be sensitive to the knee or limping.
- Kidney problems: you can do very little for them, however a special diet can prolong their lifes.
- Heart problems: increases the risk when they are older.
- Skin problems: mostly alergies
